MEET MIKA!

Homegrown in Norwalk, California, Mika (they/them) was raised by an unstoppable group of Renaissance women, old radio music, and a deep love for storytelling.

In June 2024 Mika earned their Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theater with an Honors in Acting from the University of California, Irvine.

As a bold and confident plus-size queer person of color, Mika is constantly trying to advocate and make space for people that look like them. They have always had a strong sense of self, but performing gave them back their voice and taught them how to own both strength and power. Mika believes that it is important to remain genuine and authentic to yourself in a world where shapeshifting has become the standard. Theatre is about embracing differences. It is about empathy. More importantly, it is about people changing people.

Theatre is one of the most important facets of their life and the most important things they has ever been told was to lead with her heart. Mika brings that love into every space and rehearsal room they can.

There are few things in this world that Mika loves more than Jazz culture , any music that has a fiddle, the 70s, a pickle, and a ripe mango. In their free time, Mika can be found with a camera in hand,  in a thrift store, a farmers market, or on the floor of their bedroom creating something fresh. As a driven and ambitious Capricorn, they have made it their mission to capture the important people in their life through a lens of any kind. Their current fixations include , trying to junk journaling, throwing dinner parties, and listening to the discography of Ella Fitzgerald.

“Thank you for looking at the snapshots of my life!”
